Soils
The vineyards sit on Jurassic limestone bedrock from the Bathonian and Bajocian formations, with surface soils of brown limestone and marl containing fossilized marine organisms. The well-drained limestone provides excellent drainage while allowing vine roots to penetrate deeply, with the marl layers providing water retention during dry periods.
