The Alentejo's signature white grape, producing full-bodied, aromatic wines with tropical fruit character. Handles heat well, retaining flavor intensity even in the hottest conditions. Best from the granitic soils of Portalegre, where altitude adds freshness.
Most are best within 2-4 years. Barrel-fermented examples can age 5-8 years.
