About
Madeira's workhorse and the grape in most age-dated blends, long underestimated and now proudly named on labels by the island's best houses. Supple and adaptable, it plays every rung of the sweetness ladder, giving caramel, dried fig, and orange peel with the island's signature cut. Known as Negramoll in the Canary Islands, where it makes soft table reds.
