Cacabelos
Bierzo
Central Bierzo municipio along the Cúa river, a key Mencía-growing town with both flatland alluvial vineyards and steeper slate slopes. Multiple paraje-classified vineyards sit here under the Vino de Paraje classification.
The wines of Cacabelos are made primarily from Godello, Mencía.

Climate
A sheltered basin between the Sierra de Ancares and the Aquilianos. Warmer days and cooler nights than the surrounding mountains, with the highest humidity in the DO. The valley floor carries more spring frost risk than the slopes above; harvest tends to be earlier.
Terroir
River-terrace soils of clay, sand, and rounded gravels deposited by the Sil and Cúa over millennia. Deeper, more fertile, and easier to work than the slate slopes above. Vines yield more, with rounder, more immediate fruit; the heart of the DO's village-level bottlings.
