Terroir & Classification

Soils

LimestoneClay

The vineyards sit on Jurassic limestone bedrock from the Bathonian and Bajocian periods, rich in marine fossils including oyster shells and crinoids. A shallow layer of clay-limestone soil overlies the bedrock, providing good water retention while the fractured limestone beneath ensures excellent drainage and forces vine roots deep into the mineral-rich substrate.
