Vougeot
Burgundy
A tiny village dominated by the famous Clos de Vougeot, with just a handful of other vineyards to its name. The village wines are rare but rewarding, offering a glimpse of that signature Côte de Nuits depth and structure.
The wines of Vougeot are made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir. Steely, mineral, unoaked.

Terroir & Classification
Soils
Vougeot sits on Jurassic limestone bedrock from the Bathonian period, with a surface layer of clay-limestone soils mixed with marl and fossilized marine sediments. The underground limestone provides excellent drainage while the clay component retains moisture, allowing vine roots to penetrate deep into the fractured bedrock for mineral uptake.
