Fernão Pires

Portugal's most planted white grape (also called Maria Gomes in Bairrada). Produces aromatic, fruity wines best enjoyed young. At its most expressive in the Tejo and Lisboa regions. Used for both still wines and sparkling base in Bairrada.

Drink within 1-3 years for maximum freshness and floral aromatics.
