Soils
The vineyards sit on Middle Jurassic limestone bedrock with overlying calcareous marl deposits, creating excellent drainage while retaining sufficient moisture for the vines. The limestone subsoil, rich in fossilized marine organisms, allows roots to penetrate deeply while the marl topsoil provides mineral complexity and water retention during dry periods.
