Terroir & Classification
Soils
The vineyards sit on Jurassic limestone bedrock from the Bathonian and Bajocian periods, with varying layers of Oligocene limestone, calcareous marl, and clay deposits. The upper slopes feature thin soils over hard limestone with excellent drainage, while mid-slope positions have deeper marl-rich soils that retain more moisture and allow roots to penetrate deeper into fissured bedrock.
