Terroir & Classification
Soils
The vineyards sit on Jurassic limestone bedrock from the Bathonian and Bajocian periods, with overlying marls containing abundant fossilized oysters and ammonites. The limestone provides excellent drainage while the marl layers retain some moisture, allowing vine roots to penetrate deep into the fractured bedrock for mineral uptake.

Elevation
280-380m, primarily east and southeast-facing slopes
Microclimate
Protected by the Corton hill to the east, the vineyards enjoy a sheltered microclimate with morning sun exposure and afternoon shade, creating cooler temperatures than the exposed Beaune côte. The elevation and wind protection result in slower ripening and retained acidity in both reds and whites.
