Despite the name, unrelated to Riesling. One of Austria's most planted white grapes, producing crisp, light wines in a dry style and extraordinary sweet wines (Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese) around Lake Neusiedl. Also widely grown in Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia.
