About Weinviertel
The Weinviertel (Wine Quarter) is Austria's largest wine region, stretching across the rolling hills of northeastern Lower Austria. It was the first Austrian region to receive DAC status in 2002, specifically for Grüner Veltliner. The wines are typically fresh, peppery, and approachable, with a distinctive spicy character that has become the benchmark style for everyday Austrian white wine.

Terroir & Character
Climate
Continental climate with warm, dry summers and cold winters, moderated by Pannonian influences from the east. The region benefits from the Weinviertel Hills' protection and receives adequate rainfall, creating ideal conditions for aromatic white varieties with good acidity retention.
Terroir
Diverse soils ranging from loess and clay in the north to limestone and gravel in the south. The famous loess soils retain moisture while providing excellent drainage, contributing to the mineral backbone and spicy character that defines Weinviertel Grüner Veltliner.
