About Geneva
Geneva is Switzerland's third largest wine region, with ~1,400 hectares spread across the canton that nearly surrounds Lake Geneva's westernmost arm. The vineyard splits into three AOC sub-zones: Mandement (the most famous, including Satigny, Russin and Dardagny), Arve et Lac on the eastern bank, and Arve et Rhône on the southern. Gamay and Chasselas are the bedrock, but Geneva has become Switzerland's most experimental region, with Gamaret, Garanoir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and small plots of Mondeuse and Aligoté broadening the palette. Producers like Domaine des Balisiers, Domaine Les Hutins, Domaine de la Vigne Blanche and Domaine Grand'Cour combine new-world openness with quiet attention to the slopes facing the Jura.

Regional Appellations
AOC Genève
The cantonal appellation covering the canton's three regional sub-zones (Mandement, Arve-et-Lac, Arve-et-Rhône) and any blends across them.
Perlan
The traditional Geneva trade name for the canton's light, often slightly spritzy Chasselas. Less used now but still seen on classic producers' labels.
Gamaret
A Geneva-born red variety, bred in 1970 at the Agroscope research station from Gamay and Reichensteiner. Widely planted across Romandie but Geneva still leads on the polished single-varietal style.
