Remstal-Stuttgart
Württemberg
The Bereich closest to Stuttgart, following the Rems and Neckar through the urban-rural fringe of the state capital. Schwarzriesling and Trollinger dominate by volume; Riesling and Spätburgunder from steep terraced Einzellagen drive the quality reputation. Aldinger, Rainer Schnaitmann and Wöhrwag are the modern reference producers.
The wines of Remstal-Stuttgart are made primarily from Pinot Noir, Riesling, Blaufränkisch and other Württemberg varieties.

Climate
Protected by the Schurwald forest to the east and warmed by Stuttgart's urban heat island effect. South to southwest exposure on the Neckar and Rems slopes. One of Württemberg's warmest mesoclimates.
Terroir
Keuper marl and sandstone dominate, with loess deposits on the higher terraces. The Rems valley adds gypsum-rich Keuper soils that give distinctive minerality.
